The deceased boy along with his parents
Thiruvananthapuram: In a tragic incident, a 4-year-old Thiruvananthapuram boy succumbed after a KSRTC bus hit the bike he was travelling with his parents. The deceased has been identified as Sreehari, the lone child of couple Bijukumar and Sajitha from Karakulam’s Kachani locality.
The incident happened at Palayam around 6:30 PM. According to the relatives and friends, the family was on the way to attend a marriage. When they were passing through Palayam Bakery road, a KSRTC bus heading towards Thampanoor hit the bike. Due to the blow, Sreehari, who was on the front side was tossed from the bike and he landed under the bus. The wheels of the bus ran over the boy’s head and he reportedly died on the spot.
Witnessing the child’s accident, his mother collapsed. The onlookers rushed the family to SAT hospital. The information about the child’s death was revealed to the mother only by night only.
The boy was born to the duo after a 10-year long wait. His fourth birthday was just a month back. His friends and relatives of the family are dismayed at the death of Sreehari, who was very bubbly. When the family left for the marriage, they had visited a neighbour’s house for a helmet. Sreehari, while interacting with them, had playfully told the parents that he is not coming for the function. The trip ended in a tragedy.
Boy’s father is a painter. The family built their house with aid from the government, relatives and friends.
