Thiruvalla: The Believers Church has announced 12 new Episcopas. Their consecration will be held at the Kuttappuzha St Thomas Cathedral near here on March 2.
Speaking at a press conference, Bishop K P Yohannan Metropolitan said Rajyasabha Vice Chairman P J Kurien will inaugurate the felicitation ceremony at 11 am. The new episcopas were selected jointly by the Episcopal Synod and ecclesiastic Almaya Forum.
At the ceremony, Fr Daniel Punnoose, Fr Praison John, Fr Roy Isaac, Fr Anup Jena, Fr Samkutty Isaac, Fr Joju Mathew, Fr Japha Imol, Fr Jeba Singh, Fr Samuel Thomas, Fr Sacharia Jose, Fr Martin K Eeppan and Fr Jesu Prasad will be ordained episcopas.
With the ordination, the total number of episcopas will be 30. The church with 86 dioceses has 15,000 churches all over the world.
Church PRO Fr Sijo Panthappallil and Synod Secretary Bishop Simon John participated in the press meet.
