Thiruvananthapuram: A group of Kerala BJP leaders will visit railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw with a proposal to establish a third railway line as alternative option for K-Rail's SilverLine project. The team led by union minister V Muraleedharan will meet railway minister in New Delhi on Wednesday at 2.30 pm.
Kerala BJP leadership has taken a firm stand to oppose the SilverLine project. This stance was widely criticised as a move to hinder Kerala's development. Observing this, Kerala BJP leadership has come up with an alternative option for the SilverLine project.
Apart from the third railway line in Kerala, the BJP leaders will also request the railway minister to re-establish the Nemam terminal project.
Earlier, the centre informed that it has decided to back out from the terminal project. But this will politically affect BJP.
Union minister Muraleedharan told Mathrubhumi News that an alternative should be found to operate high-speed trains in Kerala.
