There is evidence to prove that Alan and Thaha are Maoists, says court
Kozhikode: Preliminary investigations have revealed evidence to prove that Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal, who were arrested under UAPA from Pantheeramkavu, are Maoists, the court said on Wednesday.
The books, notices and banners recovered from them belonged to CPI (Maoist), an organisation banned by the central government. Based on these documents, preliminary investigations revealed that the two have connections with the banned organisation.
These observations were made in the magistrate court verdict that denied bail to Alan and Thaha who were arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The south assistant commissioner, who is the investigation officer in the case, has sought to take the accused under custody. In this situation, granting bail during the preliminary stage of the investigation will affect the case.
Based on facts and circumstances, granting bail to the accused would be inappropriate, the court evaluated.
