Goods train derails in Thrissur, traffic partially disrupted


The four bogies and the engine that was taken to refuel at Irumpanam BPCL has been derailed. Train services on the Thrissur-Ernakulam route were partially disrupted due to the accident.

Goods train derailed in Thrissur

Thrissur: A goods train has been derailed in Thrissur. The accident took place at 2.15 pm on Friday near Thekke Thuravu in the Puthukkad railway station area. The cause of the accident is not known.

The four bogies and the engine that was taken to refuel at Irumpanam BPCL has been derailed. Train services on the Thrissur-Ernakulam route are partially disrupted due to the accident.

Trains including Jan Shatabdi and Venad Express are likely to be delayed. Railway has informed that trains will not have to be cancelled and traffic will be regulated through one track. Top railway officials are inspecting the area.
