Kochi: KSEB chairman B Ashok on Thursday mocked the protest of Officers' Association. Their protest under the sun and rain will be in vain, he said while inaugurating the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations of the organisation of SC and ST employees in KSEB.

When media persons ask them if the chairman should be removed, they actually want to tell that we are trying for that in the past six months. But they instead are saying 'no need, but his mentality should change'. The most saddening part of life is when you can't speak of what is in your mind, Ashok said.

The actions were not vengeance. I am not afraid of changes. I will behold the same stand wherever I go. I will not compromise on the basics of KSEB. The management takes a position of compromise with respect, he said.

KSEB board withdrew the suspension of two of the three leaders, but refused to cancel the transfer order. The Association is continuing the protest after a mediation talk failed to yield result.

Board director R Suku, chief engineer P Surendra, and Seva state president Cherumood Mohan were present at the meeting.
