Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to allow theatres to use 100 per cent of their seating capacity. The move comes as the new infections in the state are lowering.

It is for the first time since Covid induced lockdown in 2020 that the government allows full capacity in theatres.

The restaurants are also allowed to use their maximum capacity.

Crowd control based on the hospitalisation rate is now discontinued. All public events can have a maximum of 1,500 people. Earlier, only religious festivals had permission for this.
