Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor MP on Tuesday expressed his confidence over youngsters backing him to be a candidate for the office of Congress president. He pointed out that party members see him as a person who can bring changes to Congress.
His remark came upon his return to Kerala from Delhi after filing the nomination paper.
He also refused to comment on why KPCC president K Sudhakaran openly supported the candidature of Mallikarjun Kharge. "I am not sure why Sudhakaran made such a statement. Maybe he might not have learned that high command restricts PCC presidents from publicly voicing their support for any candidate. I will speak with him on the matter," he said.
"It is obvious there would be differences when there are two candidates. That is the beauty of an election. We are working for the future and benefit of the party," he said.
