Evidence collection at Pinarayi

Thalassery: The accused in the sensational Thalassery twin murder case said in their statement that they had visited Chirakkara near Pinarayi before fleeing to Karnataka.

Jackson, one of the accused, had suffered injuries on his head during the clash in front of cooperative hospital canteen here. He was taken to nearby Mission Hospital in the key accused Parayi Babu’s autorickshaw.

Later they reached the house of another accused EK Sandeep in Chirakkara. The accused had food and left for Karnataka’s Madikeri. They travelled through Mambaram-Mylullimetta route in one of the accused Arun Kumar’s car.

Meanwhile, the accused removed SIM card from their phones to avoid tracing but were by caught by police in a dramatic episode.

The seven accused arrested over the case has been remanded. The political connections of the accused had stoked political slugfest. The visit of the accused to Pinarayi has given another ammunition to the Congress and BJP to target CPM as the locality is its stronghold.
