Thalassery twin murder: Seven, including key accused, nabbed by police  


The key accused Parayi Babu alias Suresh Babu (47), who was on the run following the murder, was arrested from Iritty. Three others namely Jackson Vincent, K Naveen, Muhammad Farhan, who were directly involved in the murders, were taken into police custody on Wednesday.

Thalassery: The police on Thursday nabbed four more people, including key accused Parayi Babu, in connection with the twin murder of CPM activists in Thalassery. The other accused are Arun Kumar alias Arootty (38), EK Sandeep (38) and N Sujith Kumar (45).

The key accused Parayi Babu alias Suresh Babu (47), who was on the run following the murder, was arrested from Iritty. Three others namely Jackson Vincent, K Naveen, Muhammad Farhan, who were directly involved in the murders, were taken into police custody on Wednesday itself.

The accused, who had fled to Karnataka, were caught by the police from Iritty on their way back to Kerala.

Meanwhile, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the murders were shocking. Through a Facebook post, CM promised to resort to severe action against the assailants and assured a vigorous probe into the case.

CPM activists Khalid (52), a fisherman, and his brother-in-law Shameer (40) were killed allegedly for questioning the sale of psychotropic drugs in their locality.
