Thaha is a Maoist cadre; Connection started after Nilambur encounter, says police
Kozhikode: Police stated that the Maoist connection of Thaha Fasal, who was arrested and charged with Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for alleged Maoist links, started after Maoist leader Kuppu Devaraj was killed in Nilambur police encounter.
According to police, Thaha's connection began through the Maoist supporters in Kozhikode city and later he became a Maoist cadre. Meanwhile, the court will consider the bail plea of Thaha and Alan Shuhaib on Wednesday. Police have interrogated many persons who have close links with Maoists.
Police have not yet been able to decipher the secret codes found in the books seized from the raid at their house. They use different codes in each state. The police also said that the codes can be decrypted only after the accused are sent in police custody. So, the police stand on the bail plea of the accused is very crucial.
