Edavanna (Malappuram): A temple priest was arrested for molesting a girl in Edavanna, Malappuram. The accused has been identified as Shiju (35), a native of Edavanna. The incident pertaining to the case took place on May 29.
As per reports, the accused molested the girl while performing some black magic rituals at her house. Shiju allegedly convinced the family that the ritual would help prevent unnatural deaths and bring them benefits.
The incident came to light after the girl revealed the incident to a friend. Following which, the friend informed the child helpline and Edavanna police. Soon after, Shiju was nabbed by the police.
