Thiruvananthapuram: Former chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena has raised a sharp criticism against CPM leader P Sasi and former minister TH Musthafa in his autobiography.
He revealed about P Sasi’s intervention to transfer him from the post of Thrisur district collector for taking action against illicit toddy making. He also alleged Sasi’s involvement in his suspension while serving as Wayanad district collector.
Meena’s autobiography titled ‘Tholkkila Njaan’ raised serious allegations against many politicians and therir interventions to trouble him.
It is alleged that P Sasi who was the political secretary to then Chief Minister EK Nayanar intervened to transfer Meena from the post of Thrissur collector after he took action against illicit toddy trade.
“TH Mustafa showed a vindictive behaviour towards me when he was serving as food minister in Karunakaran’s cabinet,” he alleged.
Pressures and bad experiences faced from the LDF and UDF governments are the major highlight of Meena’s autobiography.
“When I nabbed the people involved in illicit toddy making, then excise minister summoned me and expressed his protest. He also pressurised then district police chief B Sandhya to subvert the case. P Sasi who was political secretary of the then CM was behind all these moves,” Meena alleged in his book.
He also revealed that he continued to face vengeful actions after the transfer to Wayanad.
“ I was suspended from service over a row related to central government fund. Interventions of the political secretary led to the suspension. Then CM EK Nayanar also revealed about the advice of his political secretary while talking to the people who appealed him to cancel my suspension,” Meena wrote on his autobiography.
Meena also briefed up about facing vengeful action from former food minister TH Mustafa for uncovering wheat smuggling while serving as civil supplies director.
“ TH Mustafa wrote bad remarks on my service record. I visited then Chief Minister AK Antony and complained about it. But no action was taken to withdraw the remark,” he pointed out.
Teeka Ram Meena wrote the autobiography along with journalist MK Ramdas. The book will be released on May 2.
It is hinted that next part of his book will disclose his experiences while serving in the post of chief electoral officer in Kerala.
