Teachers worried over direction to deliver CM's message at houses of students
Thiruvananthapuram: The education department has issued a direction which leads to violation of Covid protocol. It has been directed to deliver the chief minister's message to children who are admitted to class 1 this academic year. The message should be delivered at the houses of the students.
Teachers are instructed to receive the printed message of the chief minister from AEO office. The government has decided to conduct admission festival virtually this time. So, the teachers are confused why the printed message should be delivered at the houses of the students.
Concerns have arisen if distribution of printed message will lead to Covid transmission. The teachers in charge of the respective schools should come to the AEO office directly and receive the message and deliver the same at the students' houses from Sunday onwards.
The direction was issued when lockdown, triple lockdown and Covid protocols are enforced in the state. The teachers pointed out the chances of disease transmission while visiting the houses of over 4 lakh children across the state. They have discussed the matter with authorities.
