Kochi: Tripunithura police on Saturday registered a POCSO case against a teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl in Kochi. The accused has been identified as Kiran, a native of Pattimattom.
Kiran has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to the complainant, the accused attacked her inside a vehicle while returning from attending an arts festival.
Initially, the girl revealed the incident to her friends. Following this, they informed the matter to the school counsellor and lodged a complaint with the police.
“Currently, the accused is absconding, and a search operation is underway,” said the police.
