Kannur: Police have arrested a teacher here for alleged sexual assault of five students.
Kondotty native Faisal Mecheri, a teacher at a school in Taliparamba North, has been arrested after an investigation based on five complaints received by police.
Police have so far received around 17 complaints against Faisal, said reports.
The matter came to light when the students were undergoing counselling. Following this, the school authorities informed childline workers.
The accused had been working at the school for the past four years, and he allegedly sexually assaulted the students for several days at the school.
Police have recorded the statements of the students.
