Alappuzha: Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has called for strict measures to reclaim devasom lands often misconstrued as Poramboke land in government records.

The Devasom Commissioner called for strict action against officials failing to take measures to rectify errors in government records.

The board didn't receive reasonable compensation when temple lands were acquired for National Highway development. Devasom board was unable to produce documents to verify that acquired lands belonged to them.

To change the ownership of land under Devaswom Board, the officials should submit an application along with a copy of the devasom land register, settlement register and Travancore-Cochin Hindu Religious Institutions (Sections 27,50) Act.

Meanwhile, the survey directors in various districts have released an order directing officials to conduct a digital survey to identify Devasom lands.
