TDB bans mobile phones at Sannidhanam
Sabarimala: The Travancore Devaswom Board has strictly banned the use of mobile phones at Sannidhanam here on Wednesday. It is reported that the TDB has taken the decision after visuals of Sreekovil was widely circulated on social media. An official order regarding this will be issued soon.
Earlier also, Devaswom board has prohibited use of mobile phones at Sannidhanam. But this rule was not implemented strictly here.
Following this, videos of Sreekovil and the idol of the deity were circulated on social media. In view of this, the board has taken action to strictly ban use of mobile phone from the 18 steps to the Sannidhanam.
According to reports, the TDB has taken the decision two days back. In the first phase of the ban, mobile phones will be seized and visuals and photographs deleted. Actions including registering case against the people will be taken in the second phase of the ban.
Apart from this, Devaswom board has decided to take action against those who defame Sabarimala on social media.
Few days back, a fake news on dead lizard found in Aravana was widely circulated on social media. TDB has filed a complaint with DGP against this.
