After Anupama took charge as the collector of Thrissur, the number of women visitors and common people increased. No matter how busy her schedules were, she used to start her work only after paying attention to the complaints of the ordinary people.

T. V. Anupama has a reputation for sticking to truth in all positions she held till date. After becoming the collector, the first task she accomplished was to pacify the coastal residents who were protesting against the sea erosion of the coastal area. She visited them in person and continued the activities even during the floods.

The collector faced controversies for giving notice to BJP candidate Suresh Gopi for violating Model Code of Conduct during Lok Sabha Election and also raising objections to bring tusker Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran for Thrissur Pooram procession.

Also she encouraged Peruvanam Kuttan Marar when he collapsed during Ilanjithara Melam of Thrissur Pooram and later returned to take part in the percussion during the festival this year.

She also managed to pacify the people who arrived to create blockade in the collectorate regarding land title deed issues. She ensured them that the issue will be settled within one and a half month. In a latest action, she suspended the permit of Kallada Travels before going on leave.
