Swapna Suresh, Sandeep Nair taken to Aluva hospital for medical check-up and COVID-19 test
Kochi: Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair, accused in the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case, have been brought to the Aluva Taluk Hospital for medical check-up and COVID-19 test.
After completing the tests, both will be taken to the NIA office in Kochi for a round of interrogation. Later, they will be produced before the NIA Special Court.
The NIA convoy crossed the Walayar border with the accused on Sunday by 11.15 am. Meanwhile, the vehicle sustained a puncture near Vadakkencherry and Swapna Suresh was shifted to another vehicle.
During the journey, Congress workers staged protests at Walayar, Paliyekkara, Chalakudy and Koratty. In order to avoid the protesters in Paliyekkara, the NIA convoy travelled through the track in the opposite direction.
