Swapna, Sarith to give confidential statement to court
Kochi: Swapna Suresh and Sarith, accused in gold smuggling case, expressed their desire to give a confidential statement to the court. They pointed out that they are unable to reveal some facts due to the presence of police officials.
Considering their request, the trial court directed the duo to write down all the facts which should be informed to the court and hand it over through their lawyer. The court has granted more time to the duo for meeting their lawyers.
At the same time, the Principal Sessions Court has permitted Adv Joe Paul to have talks with Swapna Suresh.
The court has informed that the lawyer will be allowed to have a meeting with Swapna on Thursday at 2.30 pm. Swapna’s custody in Customs will expire on Thursday.
