Malappuram: A team from National Investigation Agency (NIA), Kochi, conducted searches in Green Valley Academy, Manjeri over suspected links of the institute with leaders of Popular Front of India (PFI), the recently banned political outfit.
The search happened under police surveillance. Apparently, the officials took certain books and mobile phones from the institute for further probe.
Green Valley Academy has many educational organisations under it. NIA enquired matters including whether PFI leaders conducted sessions at these organisations.
It is learnt that PFI leaders including CA Rauf, who has been arrested, used to pay visit to the institute. Reportedly, All India Imams Council leader Karamana Ashraf Moulavi was given a room in the institute for a book translation work. All these matters will be investigated, it is learnt.
