Suspect in murder of Nepali woman in Kochi taken into custody

Kochi: The man who is accused of murdering a Nepali woman inside a rented house in Elamkulam has been taken into custody from Nepal. The Kerala police team caught Ram Bahadur Bisti with the help of local police. He would later be brought to Kochi.

The Kerala police had located the place where Ram Bahadur was living. But he had fled the area by the time the police arrived. He was later caught in a search that was conducted with the help of the Nepal police.

On October 24, Bhageeradhi Dhami was found murdered at her rented house in Elamkulam. The dead body was wrapped in a plastic bag. The remains were four days old at the time of discovery.

Primary investigation revealed that Ram Bahadur, who was living with the woman, fled the state after committing the murder. Police also found that several of the documents he had given while renting the house were fake.

Ram Bahadur had an Aadhaar card and a PAN card.

Meanwhile, the process of handing over Bhageeradhi Dhami’s body to her relatives would take time. Her relatives are yet to identify the body. The body will be handed over only after a DNA test as her face has been disfigured.
