Dileep-Kerala High Court / Source:File

Kochi: In a major twist in the actress attack case, the survivor has approached the Kerala High Court here on Monday with a fresh plea against the government. She alleged that there has been an intervention from the higher level to avert the questioning of lawyers of actor Dileep, accused in the case. Citing many other reasons, the survivor in her latest plea has also urged the court to act to avoid the submission of the further investigation report in a hurried manner.

Earlier, the court had directed the probe team to complete further investigation into the case by May 30 and submit the respective report on May 31.

In the plea, the survivor has pointed out that though the probe was progressing in a righteous manner, there was an intervention from the top to avert the interrogation of Dileep's lawyers.

To corroborate the same, the survivor in her plea has listed instances that suggest political intervention. Yet, Crime Branch(CB) has not received the nod for questioning

Dileep’s lawyers at its headquarters. Since the transfer of the Crime Branch chief, further investigation into the case is in a stalled condition. Similarly, there is much evidence that is yet to be examined, the plea said.

Pointing out the reasons, the survivor has requested not to complete the probe in a hurry and the further probe should happen in a diligent manner. The plea also urged the court to issue a direction after considering the aforementioned factors.

The allegations are likely to put the state government under pressure at a time when Thrikkakara bypoll is around the corner.
