Kozhikode: While leading the inspections of mid-day meals at school, Minister GR Anil reminded that regular security checks of the food served will be conducted in schools and ensured that any insufficiency in the system will be addressed.

The inspections will be carried out under the departmental officials and people’s representatives at least once in every three months in each school. The minister said that special training will be ensured to the cooks here.

He added that the government considers the reported food poisoning incidents as grave and the necessary actions will follow after receiving the laboratory reports of the samples collected.

Minister GR Anil suggested the mothers to arrive at schools to help in serving food for children. He added that it was said as the mothers show more concern in the matters of children.

Though the minister informed that he would visit the Civil Station GUP School on Monday, instead of arriving at the school, he made a surprise visit to St Vincent's Colony GHS School. Minister analysed the menu chart of each day and headed to the kitchen. After inspecting the kitchen, Minister informed the media that the cleanliness was satisfactory. Meanwhile, he also enquired the students about the food served in school.
