Surendran’s bail plea to come up today; Release unlikely as arrest warrant exists
Pathanamthitta: The bail plea of BJP state general secretary K. Surendran who was arrested and remanded for violating the prohibitory order in Sabarimala will be considered by the Pathanamthitta Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
Even if he is granted bail, he may not be released as an arrest warrant exists against him in connection with another case in Kannur for threatening a DySP and CI.
The court issued this warrant after Surendran failed to appear before the court. The police will point out in the court that an arrest warrant exists against him. Hence, Surendran may not be able to come out of prison even if he is granted bail.
Meanwhile, the bail plea of 69 persons, including RSS leader R. Rajesh, who were arrested for violating prohibitory order in Sannidhanam will be filed in Pathanamthitta Munsiff Court on Wednesday. It is learnt that the police are likely to oppose the bail plea of the arrested persons.
The court will also consider the petition demanding to quash the case against BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai for delivering a controversial speech. Sreedharan Pillai claimed that the case was charged without listening to full version of the speech. The government will take a stand against dismissing the case.
