Surendran approaches High Court seeking relaxation in bail conditions
Kochi: BJP state secretary K Surendran has approached the High Court seeking relaxation in bail conditions to take part in the Makaravilakku festival. The HC has sought a report from the government.
Surendran was arrested under non-bailable conditions in connection with the violence that broke out during the Chithira Atta Vishesham. The HC had granted him bail on condition that he must not enter Pathanamnthitta district.
Surendran in his petition sought relaxation in bail condition to have darshan at the Sabarimala temple during Makaravilakku festival.
The Sabarimala nada will be opened for five days following the Makaravilakku festival. Surendran has sought permission to visit the hill shrine on one of these days. The HC will pronounce an order after hearing the government’s stand on the matter.
