Supreme Court directs Centre to solve traffic disruption caused by farmers’ protest
New Delhi: Farmers have the right to protest against the agricultural laws enacted by the central government, however it should not disrupt common man’s right to travel ensured by the Constitution of India, observed the apex court while considering a petition filed by a Noida resident.
The resident approached the court as the continuing farmers’ protest disrupted rail and road traffic. It also caused heavy traffic jam in various places.
Considering the petition, the apex court directed the centre to find an apt solution for the issue.
