Support no-confidence motion or leave front; UDF issues ultimatum to Jose K Mani faction
Kochi: UDF convenor Benny Behanan hinted that Jose K Mani group will be ousted from UDF if they refuse to support the no-confidence motion against the government.
“At present, UDF has only suspended Kerala Congress as a disciplinary action. If they continue with such activities, action will be taken against them. If they support UDF’s no-confidence motion against the government, then discussions on reinstating them will take place,” said Benny Behanan.
Earlier, Jose K Mani faction refused to accept the decision taken by UDF. Hence, UDF decided to suspend the party after examining that they were not eligible to be part of the front. Now, all parties in UDF have decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the government. If Jose K Mani faction continues not to cooperate with the decision, UDF will take further action against them,” he added.
Benny Behanan pointed out that violating UDF’s direction on the no-confidence motion will be considered as violating the front’s code of conduct. So, there will be no compromise in taking action against them, he noted.
Still, Jose K Mani faction has the chance to rectify their mistake. We will try to convince them. If they support the no-confidence motion, we will discuss on reinstating them to the front, declared Benny Behanan.
As a member of UDF, Kerala Congress is obliged to accept UDF’s decision. UDF has taken a clear stand on the matter, asserted the UDF convenor.
