Piravom (Ernakulam): Construction of the Suburban Mall of Supplyco at Piravom will be complete within 3 months. It is the first Suburban Mall of Supplyco that is under construction at Piravom by the riverside. The mall is being built in the 44-cent plot given out by the gram panchayat. In addition to this, another plot was granted for vehicle parking.
Supplyco and gram panchayat came into an agreement regarding the project in 2013, when Anoop Jacob was the minister of food and civil supplies. The construction started in 2014. A 7-storeyed building including a cellar is being constructed at an expense of Rs 15 crore. Each storey has an area of 7500 sq. ft. The cellar area is for public parking. The municipality office will function in the first floor. Suburban mall and other establishments will function in other floors.
Two floors are dedicated for the institutions related to Supplyco. Another two floors can be given for rent, as many industrialists have plans to launch children’s amusement park, theatre and other initiatives. The floors for the municipality office will be complete by June. Rs 70 lakh was allocated in the municipality budget for preparing the municipality office with all modern facilities. They are also planning to make available the services through online to avoid delay of file movement.
