Summer rain to intensify in Kerala from April 14
Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Centre has informed that the summer rain will strengthen in Kerala from April 14 onwards. Thunderstorm is likely to hit the state for some days. Summer rain is pouring down in some parts of the state now. When the rain strengthens, the intense heat will decrease.
Presently, the highest temperature was recorded in Kozhikode district. From March 1 onwards, there was an increase of about 20 C more than the average temperature, said Meteorological Centre director S. Santhosh.
The wind direction and speed keep changing in favour of the rain. Depression also is likely to form. If the rain pours down as expected, the threat of drought will reduce. From March 1 to until now, Kerala has received 17 percent more summer rain. 65 mm rain was received in place of the expected 55.6 mm.
