Sulthan Bathery, Kondotty could turn into large clusters of COVID-19: CM
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad and Kondotty in Malappuram are likely to turn into large clusters of COVID-19. He was addressing the media here on Monday after the coronavirus review meeting.
In Sulthan Bathery, 15 people belonging to a large shop tested positive for COVID-19. It is assumed that over 300 people had come into contact with the staff at the shop. The Health department is tracing the people who were in contact with the patients.
In Valad, 7 members of a family tested positive for COVID-19. Sample test of the 110 people who were in contact with the patients is being carried out, informed the CM.
“The Kondotty region is turning into a high-risk cluster. 40 people there contracted the disease through contact,” he added.
Pinarayi VIjayan pointed out that 43 people who attended a wedding held at Chengala panchayat in Kasaragod also tested positive for the virus.
