Sulthan Bathery co-op bank 'irregularities': Congress leaders likely to face action
Sulthan Bathery: Congress fear the internal fight over the alleged irregularities in the Sultan Bathery Co-Operative Urban Bank in Wayanad will make headlines on national media as the Lok Sabha constituency is represented by Rahul Gandhi.
According to reports, Congress leadership is likely to take action against some leaders over the controversies related to the bank. DCC president IC Balakrishnan's response also hinted at this move.
Bathery MLA and DCC president I C Balakrishnan on Sunday alleged that CPM is behind the controversy.
Two gangs, led by prominent leaders of 'A' and 'I' groups of Congress, are working jointly to ‘sell’ the vacancies in the banks run by the party, alleged some people.
Mathrubhumi reported the irregularities in the appointments at the bank on Friday. A letter in the name of the DCC general secretary P R Sivadas was circulated on social media by one of the groups. The letter addressed to KPCC President, named some leaders from the district. However, Sivadas denied sending any such letter and said he will file a complaint with the police and the party leadership over the fake letter.
It is alleged that the letter is an attempt to defame Sivadasan and the internal enquiry committee members.
CPM and AIYF will hold protests on Monday over the row.
