G Sukumaran Nair
Changanassery: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair has claimed that the colleges in Kerala are turning Covid-19 clusters and urged the government to postpone the examinations until the situation gets normal. According to Nair, the colleges should be closed and alternative arrangements like online classes should be resumed.
Covid-19 curbs are going for a toss as the colleges are conducting classes and exams. In some colleges, the exams are not postponed even after some students and staff tested positive for COVID-19, added Sukumaran Nair.
The NSS chief pointed out that no sufficient teachers are available for exam supervision as most of them are affected by Covid-19.
Nair slammed the government over neglecting the Covid crisis in colleges. He also criticised the government for granting permission to conduct college union elections amid the third wave of the pandemic.
