Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress party is mooting a solution to remove the roadblock in the reorganisation by increasing the number of office-bearers in the District Congress Committee. The leadership has agreed to have 25 members in big districts and 15 in smaller districts. However, Satheesan and Sudhakaran disagreed on the list of names and the process has come to a standstill for the past few days. A rethink on numbers may help to accommodate more people and resolve the issue.
The big districts may get up to 35 positions and smaller districts 25.
DCC executive will have only office-bearers. There will not be an annexure committee.
No one was removed from the list that was already prepared by Sudhakaran. There will be additions based on the demand of other leaders as well. Groups are also being accommodated in the new committees.
A group of leaders accuse that KC Venugopal loyalists were not included in the list and this has delayed finalising the list.
