Palakkad: Kasaba police here on Monday arrested three people over the murder of SDPI leader Subair in Elappully. The accused are identified as Ramesh, Saravanan and Arumughan.Police reported that the trio is directly involved in the murder.
Subair, an activist of SDPI and Popular Front was hacked to death in front of his father on Friday afternoon. He was allegedly hit by a car while on a bike with his father and attacked using sharp-edged weapons.
It is reported that the accused fled from the crime scene in a car hired by Ramesh who is in custody.
Ramesh had hired the car owned by Kripersh from Aliyar. The gang used slain RSS activist Sanjith’s car to hit Subair. After hacking him, the gang escaped from the spot in a car arranged by Ramesh. Police found this car abandoned at Kanchikode.
Meanwhile, police recovered some visuals of the accused. The visuals featured the three accused abandoning the car on the national highway.
Amidst this, sources close to police revealed that two were taken into custody over the murder of RSS activist Sreenivasan.
