Student's hand severed after bus hits electric pole in Bathery

Sulthan Bathery: In a shocking incident, a student’s hand was severed when the bus he was travelling in hit an electric pole at Ancham Mile near Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad. The student had put his hand outside the window while the bus was running.

Anappara native 18-year-old Mohammed Aslam’s hand was ripped off below his left elbow in the incident. The incident took place at around 9:30 am on Tuesday, while he was travelling from Chulliyode to Bathery.

Aslam is a second year paramedical student at Kerala Academy in Bathery.

Aslam was rushed to a private hospital in Bathery after the accident and later taken to a hospital in Kozhikode.

The severed hand was taken to the hospital but it could not be attached back as the injury above Aslam’s elbow was severe.
