Alappuzha: Several students fought each other at the Kerala University youth festival closing ceremony venue at Government College, Ambalappuzha here on Tuesday.

The incident happened in the morning. A group of students reportedly entered the fest office under the pretext of giving an appeal to the results of a group dance competition. They allegedly snatched the result-related document and tried to flee the scene. The organisers blocked them and both camps fought each other, the reports said. Organisers alleged that the police arbitrarily supported the “wrongdoers”.

Nearly 10 individuals including, volunteers, students parents and cops who rushed to control the situation had been injured and hospitalised.
Apparently, a set of students blocked the police vehicle moving outside for taking the injured to hospitals.

Coincidentally, another set of students removed CCTV Camera at the college. The college administration has filed a complaint over the same.

Meanwhile, over the incidents, police have reportedly booked 38 students. The police have started a detailed probe into the developments.
