Kozhikode: The two students who were slapped with UAPA and arrested by police have Maoists links, said CPM at the Kozhikode local committee meet. The CPM report states that the failure of the party to comprehend the Maoists links of the students must be considered as a need for introspection or self criticism.
The arrest of two CPM activists under UAPA was a widely talked subject across the state and in the wake of this the party decided to convene a local committee meeting to discuss about the connections of the students. The party’s Meenchanda branch, in which Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal are members, was convened on Monday.
The meet reiterated that both the students have Maoists connections and they have submitted a report justifying their findings. The party had failed to realise this fact and said the party needs to introspect on this. The meet also opined that both the arrested activists must be given a chance to rectify their mistakes and return to the party.
The Kerala High Court will hear the bail applications of Alan and Thaha on Wednesday. The Prosecution decided to strongly oppose the bail plea by showing the digital evidences to the court.
