Chengannur: A girl student committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the college building on Wednesday. The deceased is Athira Krishnan (20), second year BSc Botany student of Christian College, Chengannur, and a native of Venmani.
Athira jumped from the building after cutting a vein on her arm. Though she was rushed to a private hospital in Chengannur, she breathed her last by 1 PM.
The college authorities have not responded to the incident. Chengannur police have launched an investigation.
