Strict restrictions, surveillance in Kasaragod; food items to be delivered to households
Kasaragod: It has been decided to impose strict restrictions in Kasaragod where most number of coronavirus positive cases were reported in the state. The restrictions will be enforced in places which were declared as hotspots including Thalankara, Nellikkunnu, Kalanadu and Vidyanagar. Food and essential items will be delivered to households in these places.
Drone surveillance will be intensified in the hotspot areas. Bike patrolling will be arranged focusing households. Patients and elderly people aged above 65 years who do not have toilets at house will be shifted from there.
Out of the 238 COVID patients under treatment in state, 130 are from Kasaragod. A total of 10721 people are quarantined in the district. 20 new suspected cases were reported in hospitals on Friday. Out of the 2017 samples sent for testing, 1271 results were negative. Test result of 568 persons are still pending.
