Strict action against those violating lockdown in Thiruvananthapuram: DGP

Thiruvananthapuram: DGP Loknath Behera said that strict action will be taken against those who violate lockdown restrictions in Thiruvananthapuram. Only senior citizens and people who are in emergency situations can seek the help of police, he added.

Only essential services will be allowed in the district. Travelling in vehicles will not be allowed. Shops can be opened from 7 am to 11 am. Only grocery, vegetable and fruit shops are allowed to open. People should buy essentials from the nearest shops strictly maintaining social distancing, the DGP directed.

The police force is not functioning as an online delivery system. People can contact police on the number 9497900999 only for emergency requirements, the DGP said.

Meanwhile, Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran said that 10 popular hotels will be opened in the district with the help of Kudumbashree. Home delivery will be allowed from Kudumbashree hotels. KSRTC buses will be allowed for airport and railway duties, he added.
