Stern action against COVID protocol violators: DGP
Thiruvananthapuram: DGP Lokanath Behera stated that those who do not follow COVID protocol will not be advised any more and strict action will be taken against them.
As the number of COVID positive cases increased in the state, strict restrictions are imposed centering around six districts. The DGP explained this while talking to Mathrubhumi News.
The people are not maintaining social distancing. Many of them do not even wear masks. They will not be advised any more. Strict legal action including arrest and fine will be taken against them, he made it clear.
Those who go to shops for buying essentials should maintain physical distancing. Only five persons will be allowed at a time in the shop. More police officers are deployed to ensure this rule is followed, he added.
If more people gather in front of shops, action will be taken against those who formed the crowd and also against the shop owner, the DGP said.
