Idukki: A man absconded from a hospital here in Adimali after he discovered that his stepdaughter was pregnant. The incident came to light after the girl, a class-10 student, was hospitalised with stomach aches. The doctors confirmed that she was pregnant.
Upon learning about the development, he fled the hospital. Police suspect that the girl was subjected to multiple sexual assaults. The accused has been living with the girl's mother for the past 15 years.
Meanwhile, police have learned that the man hails from Palakkad. The search is ongoing to find him.
