State should not do what Modi govt does; Kanam Rajendran
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government should not follow on the same lines of the Narendra Modi government, CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said here on Friday. He told mediapersons here on Friday that all evidences brought out by the police lacks credibility.
“CPI is not a party which supports Maoists but we also do not support killing them,” he said. Besides the Left taking decisions in these matters, there is no obligation on their part to support police action. We cannot accept the fact that evidences submitted by the police on the Maoists issue is final, Kanam said.
Kanam asked if anyone had seen police personnel writing `mahasar’ lying on his belly anywhere in the world, pointing out to the video released by the police.
The party stance is that the state government and the Narendra Modi Government must not act in the same way. There is no difference of opinion between the CPM and the CPI regarding the Maoist issue. The CPM and the CPI do not support the government's view of killing to resolve the issue.
