Stadium gets ready for Pinarayi's swearing-in
Thiruvananthapuram: Elaborate arrangements have been made at the central stadium in Thiruvananthapuram which will play host to the swearing-in ceremony of the new LDF ministry headed by Pinarayi Vijayan. Pinarayi’s ministry will take oath at 4 pm on Wednesday evening. The public will be able to attend the function and seating arrangements are being organized for that.
Seating arrangements to seat as many as 2500 people have been put in place and 50,000 people will be able to view the grand function.
Present MLAs, former MLAs, former CMs, former chief secretaries, former DGPs, present govt secretaries, DGPs, commission chairmans will be invited directly by the government.
The rest will be extended an invite by party leaders. The side of the stadium adjacent to the Secretariat will be specially arranged for the leaders to take oath. The front rows will be booked for prominent leaders.
All people who reach the stadium can view the function directly. 8 CCTVs will be installed inside the stadium. Apart from this, close circuit TVs will be installed at Palayam and Statue junction for the people to view the function. LED screens will be placed in 4 places outside the stadium namely at the secretariat annexe, Jacobs Junction so as not to hinder the traffic movement.
Inorder to avoid traffic block during the time, only vehicles belonging to VVIPs will be given entry into the stadium. Vehicles of Governor, chief minister, new ministers who are taking oath and national leaders will only be permitted to enter the stadium. There will be no parking spot near the secretariat premises. In 2006, VS ministry was also sworn in at the central stadium.
