Sriram Venkitaraman to be shifted to Medical College soon, says reprots
Thiruvananthapuram: IAS official Sriram Venkitaraman, accused in the death of a journalist in a car accident will be shifted to Government Medical College on Sunday. At present, he is under treatment at KIMS hospital, a private hospital here after suffering injuries in the accident.
The action to shift the accused was taken amidst mounting pressure to shift the remand prisoner to a government hospital.
Though the civil servant was remanded for 14-days judicial custody, he is continuing in the hospital due to health issues.
However, museum police have arrived at KIMS hospital to shift him to medical college. The discharge procedures are on progress to shift him.
Sriram also sustained minor injuries in the accident. At first, he was taken to the General hospital and later shifted to the private hospital.
It is reported that the private hospital has provided five-star facility to the accused.
The authority forced to shift him to the medical college after media reported the news. As per rule, Sriram Venkitaraman should be shifted to cell ward in the Govt.Medical college.
