Thiruvananthapuram: Sriram Venkitaraman has been granted bail in connection with the death of journalist KM Basheer in vehicle accident. The bail was granted by Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate court.

Sriram appeared in the court on Monday after failing to appear numerous times in the past. Wafa Firoz, who is another accused in the case, had obtained bail earlier itself. The charge sheet will be read out when the case is considered again on October 27.

Meanwhile, Sriram's advocate has demanded that the CCTV footage of the accident should be handed over to them. They also submitted a list documents they need along with the petition.

The new demand has been made when the trial in the case is about to begin. Court stated that their request will be considered demand when the case is taken up again.
