Sridevi’s body repatriated by Keralite Ashraf Thamarassery
Dubai: The mortal remains of late actress Sridevi was repatriated from Dubai by a Malayali. Social worker Ashraf Thamarassery, who assists in repatriation of dead bodies from the UAE, received Sridevi’s body from the embalming centre after completing the legal procedures.
The certificate of the Dubai Health Authority also has mentioned that Ashraf from Ajman has received the body.
Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor’s relative Saurabh Malhotra was handling the repatriation of the body. But he was not aware of the legal formalities of the same. So, the social workers in Dubai agreed to take care of the procedures in embalming centre.
Nasar Vadanappalli and Nasar Nanthi also helped with the formalities. The authorities officially handed over the body to Ashraf Thamarassery who initiated the procedures, along with the documents. The Consulate authorities and Saurabh Malhotra took these documents to the airport with the dead body.
The High Commissioner of India to UAE Navdeep Singh Suri informed in a tweet that Sridevi’s dead body was repatriated after completing all sorts of formalities. Dubai prosecution spokesperson also confirmed that Sridevi’s death is due to accidental drowning and all other speculations have been rejected.
