Sri Lanka serial blasts: Keralites in NIA custody not involved, hints report
Kochi: In the serial blasts in Sri Lanka, it is reported that Keralites in custody of NIA are not directly involved in the crime. NIA interrogated the Keralites who supported the organisation which took responsibility of the blasts. Meanwhile, NIA will examine whether people involved in the blasts are camping in Kerala or not.
On Sunday, National Investigation Agency (NIA) grilled three Keralites in connection with the serial blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday. Among the three, two were Kasaragod natives and one was from Palakkad.
Kasaragod natives Aboobacker Siddique, Ahammad Arafath and Palakkad native Riyas Aboobacker were interrogated by NIA on Sunday. NIA officials directed Aboobacker and Ahammad Arafath to appear at the NIA office in Kochi on Tuesday.
However, NIA confirmed that Zahran Hashim, the key conspirator of the serial blasts, visited Tamil Nadu and Kerala multiple times. They got detailed information of the places they visited.
NIA will carry out a detailed interrogation of the three in order to confirm Zahran Hashim’s meetings and programmes during his visit to Kerala.
At the same time, unofficial sources revealed that NIA has arrested more people in connection with the case.
